EAST TN WASHSTAND & BASIN SETSevier Co., Tennessee walnut Sheraton washstand and porcelain. 1st item - Sevier Co. walnut washstand with shaped backsplash and unusual scalloped skirt, lower tier with a dovetailed drawer, resting on turned legs. Poplar secondary wood. Stand measures 34 3/4" H x 22" W x 22 1/2" D. Circa 1830. 2nd grouping - Flow blue five piece wash set, including a large pitcher and matching bowl, smaller pitcher, small covered dish, and small vase, all marked "May / W.H. Grindley, England" and a flow blue round covered dish marked "Kenworth, Johnson Bros. England". Six porcelain pieces total. Large pitcher measures 12" H. Basin measures 17" dia. Other porcelain pieces range from 3 3/4" H to 7 3/4" H. All porcelain items Late 19th century. Provenance: Owned by Lucinda Ogle, Gatlinburg, TN (Oakley maiden name).
Condition:
Washstand with minor surface wear overall, scratches to top of lower shelf. All porcelain pieces with light crazing, no cracks evident.
